Nepal Research and Education Network

Eduroam™ is the secure, world-wide roaming access service for the international research and education community. With hundreds of thousands of wireless access points sharing the common ssid, eduroam acts as a giant world-wide hotspot.

Eduroam provides researchers, teachers and students from an instiutution easy and secure network access when visiting another, domestic or international. Authentication of users is performed by their home institution securely, without revealing username or password to the visited institution. Users use the same credentials as when they access the network locally. Authorization to access the Internet and possibly other resources is handled by the visited institution.

How to eduroam?

Eduroam is deployed in participating instituions all over the world. If you are a member of a participating institution and traveling to another participating institution, you can connect to the visiting network using your home-institution's login credentials, securely.

Where do I eduroam?

Having started in Europe, eduroam has gained momentum throughout the research and education community and is now also available in Nepal.

How to participate

If you are a student, researcher or teacher at one of the participating institution, please contact your institutional admin for login access.

If you are an institution in Nepal, please contact NREN Secretariat for participation, training, other support, or for further information.
